Fragments of a conversation, 2013
Materials: Video projection
Exhibition: Jst wrds Cambridge Galleries, 2013
Photos and Video: Peter Ross
Fragments of a conversation is an immersive video projection of moving texts, scrolling on the walls and floor of the gallery. The projection spills expansively into the space of the gallery as well as onto the body of the viewer. Using familiar colloquial speech, it is intended to recall the experience of being in a crowd and eavesdropping on personal conversations. The installation format allows me to explore the spatial and metaphorical relationship of the viewer to the art work. Fragments of a conversation is an ongoing investigation of the intersection of public and private histories.
